Parks Masterplan
Content
In 2001, the first joint Master Plan for Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows was prepared, and it was adopted by both Councils. The 2001 Master Plan has served the communities well, however with the pace of development, demographic changes, major shifts in philosophy as climate change and environmental issues rise to the forefront, the staff of the Parks and Leisure Services Commission (PLS) felt it was an appropriate time to update the plan.
The goal of this project was to prepare a new 5- to 10-year Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Master Plan, based on comprehensive consultation and assessment of needs, that will provide vision and address the challenges, issues and trends in the future as sustainably and effectively as possible.
